The3rdone yes, it works with Turnigy 9X & 9Xr and also works with Turnigy 9X Pro. It works well with Turnigy 9Xr. But for Turnigy 9Xr, please note that you may have to sand down the (plastic) port on your Tx. Or it won't look as nice.

RocketRobbie No 4S. The mAh has nothing to do with max current draw. The C rating of the battery dictates the max current draw. The mAh rating of the battery is the capacity (Think of it as how big is the gas tank). The motors and 3in props on this drone will not fly well at all with a 1100mAh or larger battery as it is way too heavy. 1100-1300mAh is for 5in drones. The best battery is a 4S 650mAh 90-120C battery for awesome 4-6min freestyle as it is light or a 4S 850mAh for 6-8min flight.
