This is a very good soldering station concept, that is executed criminally poorly. I read of other people's problems with this product and I definitaly expected my share of them. And I got them alright. The biggest problem was, that the knob was not mounted straight. It was so bent, that the pushbutton did not work. And upon picking the station apart I found, that this was not because of bad packing or postage mishandling, it was bad manufacturing. The whole controller/lcd/pcb compositure was put together out of tolerances. So what I did was, I picjked it apart and drilled 2mm wider hole for the knob. Once I did this, the knob had enough space to sit straight. And the pushbutton function also started working. So dear manufacturer, I understand that you employ poorly paid unskilled labourers that don't have a clue, but to avoid bad manufacturing, just increase the drill radius for the knob/potentiometer!!! One of the heatsinks on the power supply board was raised 2mm on one side. This is to avoid heatsink touching the lead on the surface of the pcb. I left it like that, since it's ok. And I desoldered the other and put two washers under it. I also added grounding to the station case, since I don't want to get electrocuted. One last flaw that is still remaining is the station not responding to shaking of the handle (doesn't get out of stby). The settings are ok, so what I will have to look for is either a cold joint or soldering handle pinout improperly wired. Does anyone have the proper handle connector pinout? Thanks.

uslakar So the manuafacturer and the seller are in fact lying about the anti-satatic part? Because the official Item name is "Anti Static Heat Insulation".

uslakar Itmeans the white and blue wires in the plug have been swapped over! 1=Blue, 2=White, 3=Green, 4=Black, 5=Red - THIS IS CORRECT WIRING.

uslakar Make sure the soldering tip is properly inserted. Twist it gently while inserting to reach complete contact.
