Ερ: I just got the receiver and when I measure the signal on the ppm pin, I just see a pwm signal which is the same as one of the channels, do I have to put the receiver into a certain mode to be able to use the ppm. If so, how. Also, is there a manual or any other piece of information?

There is not much I can criticize about this product, it does what it is supposed to do for a good price. It is really light so it doesn't bother you while wearing it. It is a good idea to replace the antenna with a circular polarized one but that goes for almost every fpv device.
