the lower diameter of the shifter is about 37mm and the hole to fit into the 318i is 35mm. so with abit of mod and grinding you can get it to fit and work. one of the best mods I've done to my 84 e30 318i

This is very good and cheap, but the o ring is too smart, and it moves a little. But I can recomend itt to everbody.
