dremulatormadmax on all the batteries that come with these torches, their is a small orange (colors may vary) see through sticker that must be removed prior to charging first use it is their to prevent accidental activation during shipping

dremulatormadmax youhave to remove the orange plastic cover of the minus side of the battery , it's put their so their are more logistic options available . it also protects the torch from being activated
dremulatormadmax youmight need to shave a little bit of the brass stud off astrolux 21700 versions work for me

dremulatormadmax ithink that space is just for accessories (i'e pocket clip, 21700 battery in a protective case etc), as i don't believe you could safely use a single 18650 with so many leds, only a 21700
dremulatormadmax i agree on the not relying on the onboard charging circuit as i have the single cob version, and it charged my unprotected 18650 above 4.20 volts before the green light came on to say it was fully charged
