The received device has 2 buttons besides the "ON - OFF" one: one called "MODE" and one "START - STOP". It is a very good device: it can CHARGE, DISCHARGE or TEST. IST POWERED: either from a battery (additional, not the one we are testing) located in slot 2, located on the back of the device either from a 5v power supply via a type C USB cable. WORK: 1. the device is powered (either from an additional battery or via the USB cable); 2. insert the battery to be tested in the test slot; 3. turn on the device with the slider ON - OFF; at start-up, the device reads the current voltage of the test battery; by pressing the "MODE" button you can successively choose "CHARGE", "DISCHARGE" or "AUTO-TEST". a. for CHARGING, the device charges the battery up to 4.22v; b. for DISCHARGE, the device discharges the battery up to 2.70v after which it stops; c. for AUTO-TEST the battery must be fully charged; the device starts discharging the battery up to 2.70v after which it automatically switches to charging and stops when the battery is fully charged, at 4.22v. The display permanently reads the current value of the battery voltage, the current charging (or discharging) current, the time elapsed since the start of the operation and the current or total power. At the end of the discharge (or self-test) operation, the device displays the battery capacity in mAh. TO TEST THE CAPACITY OF A POWER BANK (it must be fully charged): 1. the device is powered; 2. the POWER BANK is connected to slot 2 on the device (in POWER BANK you must use the slot through which it charges the phones or any other device); 3. press the "MODE" button and choose the "DISCHARGE" option (NOT SELF-TEST BECAUSE POWER BANK IS USUALLY CHARGED THROUGH SEPARATE SLOT, AND IN SELF-TEST, AFTER DISCHARGE, AUTOMATIC CHARGE FOLLOWS AND THE DEVICE CAN BE DAMAGED! ); AT THE END OF THE OPERATION, DEVICE INDICATES AMONG THE OTHERS, THE TOTAL VALUE OF THE POWER BANK. The model I received is different fromt the model presented in the pictures, mine has only two push buttons but it looks it has the posibility also to charge battery. My big problem with it is that I can not adjust the dischage voltage limit, I tryed all the combination buttons but no luck.
