What a great product this could be. Everything is great - except for the aluminum piece which holds the forstner bit. There is, as an unexpected surprise, a needle bearing instead of the typical sintered brass bushing. This bearing is pressed into the aluminum guide and locked in place with a tapered retaining ring. And this is the issue - the tapered retaining ring holes protrude past the needle bearing - not allowing the forstner bit to be inserted. I removed and reinserted the retaining ring several times - even checking the groove in the aluminum for any deformation or foreign material. In the end, I used a slow-speed bench grinder with a fine grit wheel to grind away the offending material on the retaining ring. There is barely enough material left to keep the integrity of the retaining ring for it to be inserted with snap ring pliers. But with such engineering, to ruin the usefulness of this product with something as simple as using a tapered retaining ring instead of a constant section ring or a round wire ring. Many buyers of this product will NOT have the grinder and knowledge to grind material on the retaining ring successfully. This will render the product useless.
