Great buy. It performs well. The finish is good, but not as good as a high end one. The faces have been polished. There was a slight burr where the ruler/straight edge met the body of the square piece, but it was easily removed with a small file. The straight edge is straight. When lined up against a true straight edge, no light penetrates. The square is square. When tested against an engeneers square a tiny amount of light passes through, but when doing the test where you flip the square, you only get one line, as you should. This indicates that it is as good as a try square. My means of testing the protractor, was not quite as good. I tested it against another cheap protractor. There was a deviance of less than 0,2 degrees. Which one of the protractors is off, I do not know. The centerfinder i slightly of when testet against a perfect 45 degrees angle, but not enough to affect the usefullness of it. The parts slide ok. Not as good as an expensive one like a starret, but better than the cheap aluminum ones. Compared to a starret combination square, this tool falls short in every way, but the price is a lot lower. On the other hand, compared to a cheap aluminum square, this which is cheaper, this is better in every way, but more expensive.
